Biaggio Ali Walsh commits to Cal

Bishop Gorman running back Biaggio Ali Walsh, the grandson of Muhammad Ali who was named Gatorade’s Nevada Player of the Year after helping lead the Gaels to their second consecutive national championship and seventh straight state title last fall, has committed to Cal.

Ali Walsh averaged 12.1 yards per carry while rushing for 2,451 yards and 33 touchdowns as a junior. He made the announcement on his Twitter account on Sunday afternoon.

The explosive 5-foot-10, 182-pound Walsh, who was timed at 4.41 in a national scouting combine prior to his junior season, also had offers from Arizona, UNLV, Louisville, Colorado, San Diego State, Hawaii and Nevada. He garnered four stars from national recruiting expert Tom Lemming of CBS Sports.
