Bishop Gorman kicked off the second annual Tarkanian Classic with a 63-43 victory over Lynwood (Calif.) on Wednesday night.
The Gaels pulled ahead by double-digits early thanks to a nice balance of inside and outside play. On the inside, junior forwards Chase Jeter and Nick Blair provided back-to-back dunks, while on the perimeter, senior guards Obim Okeke and Noah Robotham drained back-to-back 3-pointers.
Gorman led 22-7 with 8:45 remaining in the first half and would never relinquish the lead.
