Liberty plays all Nevada teams the rest of the season. If Friday night is any indication, those teams better watch out.
Led by a seven-touchdown (four passing, three rushing) performance from senior quarterback Tyler Newman, Liberty dominated Durango 54-0 to improve to 2-3 for the season.
Newman started the scoring by breaking several tackles for a rushing touchdown on Liberty’s first possession. The next four drives ended with: a 5-yd TD to senior Jarvis Polu, a 43-yd TD to senior wide receiver Drew Hladek, an 18-yd TD to senior wide receiver Chris Reed and a 6-yd TD to Hladek.
The Patriots led 33-0 with nine minutes remaining in the second quarter and never looked back.

Liberty will host Coronado (1-3), coming off a bye, next Friday. Durango (0-3) will welcome Cimarron Memorial.
After a thrilling 42-41 overtime loss to Green Valley, Palo Verde (2-1) regrouped and returned with a 21-6 victory over Silverado (1-3).
The Panthers scored the first three touchdowns of the game, before giving up a late Skyhawks touchdown in the fourth quarter.
It’s a short week for Palo Verde. The Panthers will host Centennial for a Thursday night game next week. Silverado will face an undefeated Canyon Springs team next Friday.
