UConn’s Roscoe Smith transferring to UNLV

Forward Roscoe Smith, a key member of UConn’s 2011 NCAA national championship team, is transferring to UNLV according to CBSSports.com.
The 6-foot-8, 205-pound Smith, who must sit out the upcoming season, will have two years of eligibility remaining and is projected to be the heir apparent to Mike Moser at forward for the 2013-14 season.
Smith, an athletic dunker and shot blocker, averaged 5.5 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in 74 games during two seasons with the Huskies. He started 33 games as a freshman during UConn’s NCAA title run and averaged 6.3 points, 5.2 rebounds 1.2 blocks. He had four rebounds and four blocks in the Huskies’ championship win over Butler.
