UNLV’s pipeline to Great White North paid off again Saturday when 6-foot-4 guard Jalen Poyser, ranked the nation’s No. 84 prospect for the Class of 2015 by Rivals, picked the Runnin’ Rebels.
Poyser, an excellent 3-point shooter tabbed the No. 1 prospect in Canada by North Pole Hoops, went to Findlay Prep as a sophomore but now attends Orangeville Prep in Orangeville, Ontario, Canada. He averaged 20.5 points over four games in the recent Nike Global Challenge where he was selected to the International All-Tournament team.
The 6-foot-4, 205-pound shooting guard picked the Runnin’ Rebels over offers from Oklahoma, Dayton and Rhode Island.
I've worked hard and waited a long time for this day and can't wait to suit up in a UNLV Running Rebels jersey.

UNLV assistant Todd Simon originally recruited and coached Poyser at Findlay Prep and hit the daily double by landing Poyser a second time for the Rebels.
Poyser follows recent Canadian recruits Anthony Bennett, the No. 1 pick of the 2013 NBA Draft and now a key player for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Khem Birch and 6-foot-7 Justin Jackson, one of the top prospects for the Class of 2016 who now attends Findlay Prep, to UNLV.
