Salanoa-Alo Wily, one of the top prospects in Hawaii this year, is taking an official recruiting trip to UNLV this weekend.
The 6-foot-1, 270-pound Wily was a two-way star at Kahuku High School on the famed North Shore of Oahu. Wily, who is a soft verbal commit to Hawaii, also has been offered by Oregon State, Colorado, BYU and Nevada.
Although most scouting services list him as a defensive tackle prospect, — he had 10 sacks and 33 tackles as a senior — it’s believed the Rebels would also look at him at fullback where he rushed for 536 yards and six TDs.
A respected scout I know said Wily “would be a steal” for Tony Sanchez and compares him to former Rebel star and current Buffalo Bills fullback Frank “The Tank” Summers. Check out his highlight video below. The big guy can really motor.
UPDATE: Wily committed to UNLV during his recruiting trip.
