UNLV’s football team will complete its 2012 spring practice schedule with a 60 to 70 play scrimmage on Friday afternoon starting at 5 p.m. at Rebel Park.
The event, which is being billed as “The Spring Showcase” and is open to the public, will also feature a bounce house, face-painting and carnival-style games that are all free of charge. Concession stands also will be available.
Unlike recent years when the event was almost anti-climatic because there were very few starters and actual scrimmaging involved, Rebel coach Bobby Hauck has decided to split his squad into two teams to compete in a more game-like atmosphere.
Hauck talks about what to expect in the scrimmage and also gave his thoughts on how his team has performed this spring in the video below.
There will be a free youth football clinic for kids 6 to 12 conducted by UNLV players and coaches following the scrimmage which is scheduled to end at approximately 6:30 p.m. Players will also be available for autographs afterward.
