Findlay Prep junior swingman Christian Wood gave UNLV a verbal commitment prior to his junior season. And the 6-foot-8, 190-pounder says he is having no second thoughts on his early decision as the No. 1 seeded Pilots (29-1) depart for Bethesda, Md., where they will attempt to win their third National High School Invitational tourney title in four years later this week.
The smooth-shooting Wood, who is generally regarded as a Top 50 prospect for the Class of 2013, committed to the Rebels back on July 1.
“I’m loving it man,” Wood replied when asked how solid the commitment to the Runnin’ Rebels was. “I love the fans. They have a great atmosphere. I’ve visited some of the games … and everybody says ‘Chris Wood, how you doing?’ I just feel loved every time I walk into a UNLV Rebel game.”
