Coming off the worst season in school history, UNLV basketball fans finally had reason to smile on Tuesday night.
Help is on the way.
The Runnin’ Rebels beat out Oregon, Arizona, Michigan State and San Diego State for McDonald’s All-American Brandon McCoy. The 6-foot-11, 244-pound center from Cathedral Catholic High School in San Diego announced his decision on Twitter.
McCoy is ranked the 15th best prospect for the Class of 2017 by ESPN.com and is the school’s biggest commitment since former Bishop Gorman star Stephen Zimmerman, now a member of the NBA’s Orlando Magic.

McCoy is already projected to be the 18th pick of the 2018 NBA Draft by the website NBAdraft.net. Check out his video highlights below:
